miss firing 1300

Featured Replies

Ive had the car from new and every 2000 miles or so it starts to missfire.

changing the plugs uesually cures it but this time it didnt, I changed the "buzz bar" but still missfiring,,plug number 2 is always a lot more "caked up"than the others,

Oil consumption is exceptable and no blue smoke.

Has any one got any idea whats wrong,:(

After a decent length trip stop the engine leave it 5 minutes then start it up again, do you get white smoke? If so I would suggest valve stem seals Not overly expensive. Oil Consumption wouldnt be excessive but it would crap up the plugs on the effected cylinders.

it is quite normal for cars with a wasted spark coil pack to have 2 of the spark plugs more coaked up than the others,

does it missfire throughout the whole rev range??

does it only missfire when the engine is hot/cold??

Thanks for your thoughts ugluk and teflon tom,

Its gone to my local Skoda dealers hospitall, they did a compression test and got a zero reading on number 2 pot, the last report was they have taken the lid off and found a threepenny bit instead of an exhaust valvue.

watch this space for the next report.

Towser.
