earth point in fabia boot

Featured Replies

right guys quick Q

does anyone know where on earth i can run my earth lead to to get a decent earth. I have found plenty of spots but i need a larger one as i am running 4 awg cable i tried the bolt which holds the seat buckles in but the bolt is too big

i think reading from earlier posts Devonutopia runs cabling of this size in his fabia so hopefully he can come up with one but any suggestions are more than welcome

cheers

I ran a wire up to a rear seatbelt mount.

A power wire will run into the kick trim down the left side of the car and can be fed through the bulkhead (I drilled a hole) to get into the engine bay.

I no longer have any ICE beyond a HU and front speakers.

Rear seat belt mount like Jason say. Just undo the bolt a little. Remove some paint. Place wire and tighten up the mount ontop of the cable.

cheers for the info guys if i run into any problems i will post them up cheers

The seat belt mount really is the best place.

I spent some time trying to source a ring terminal big enough without success, so do as John says. The only extra thing I did was remove enough sleeve and solder it into a loop to make a tidy connection.

i found a different one guys i used the stud which holds the boot trim panel on only problem is they only plastic nuts will this be a problem i dont think it will be but best to double check

although a seatbelt bolt is a good place to use, MOT testers dont like to see 'stuff' bolted down with the seatbelts

hi

behind the nearside trim is an original eath point thats where my 4awg cable is eathed
