track?

Featured Replies

hi all.

just lowered me felicia (35mm) and was looking at the wheels, and noticed the rears have a narrower track than the front. 1420mm front and 1380mm rear.

what i want to know is if i space the rear wheels out by 20mm per side, will this have any negative afects on the handling???

go on see if you can beat teflontom to it and post a reply.:D

i can't see it being a problem , but i'm no Felicia expert , plus you will putting extra strain on the rear wheel bearings by spacing the wheels out , also watch the tyres don't catch the arches

thanks ric04vrs, there is space in the arches and the bearings are fine at the mo but will keep an eye on them.

forget to say , make sure the studs/bolts are long enough to cope with the 20mm spacer

:iagree:

it is vitally important that the wheel bolts are long enough!

make sure you get spacers which have the spigot ring on them too, spacers without them are dangerous imho, because it the spigot is there to locate the wheel, without them it's only the tension of the wheel bolts locating the wheel...

i've seen many a mk2 gold sheer off the fron wheel bolts through having the wrong spacers fitted.

iirc eibach make suitable spacer kits which have the spigot ring built in and they also come with the longer wheel bolts too

:)

your right. as far as im concerned double spigot spacers are the only spacers.
