Hi all, searched the forum but no definitive answer.

What would you use to quiten the engine, with a new oil change add some STP oil, the thick clear stuff or anyone trialed some thing else, just wondering what would be the comman used oil for the SDI engine.

Any specs or combo's listed would be great.

To be fair the SDI/TDI engine is never going to be quiet! An oil change can make it a little quieter but ultimatly it's always going to be a noisy engine.

Will the Ibiza engine cover soundproofing fit an SDI?

Soundproofing the cabin may be a better idea - you can buy spray-on and strip soundproofer that goes under the carpets - not sure of the make though...

There you have it - check if the Ibiza soundproof engine cover fits (do a search) and if you want to make it very quiet, get a proper soundproofing kit fitted.

I found running mine on a veggy oil mix made it quieter too
