Fabia Vrs Service price and warranty

Featured Replies

Just hit 40k in my stock Fabia Vrs so rang the local dealer for a price on the 40k service, they have quoted

pollen filter , oil filter and oil , fuel filter and i think an air filter as well , £294.23 doesn't seem to bad a price from a dealer , especially if that includes the annual inspection also

as long as the local garage is VAT registered there won't be a problem with warranty repairs in the next 5 months

Get the local garage to use Skoda parts and perform the service to Skoda recommendations.

Keep your paperwork and get them to stamp your book.

Thought the Brake fluid had to be changed after 2 years as well , they did that on my Octy at 39k miles .

Just be careful and ensure that they are quoting for all the work specified in the skoda service schedule as opposed to just quoting you for their 'full service' product which will include naff all!

Agreed - might be worth photocopying an official service sheet from a previous service so that they can tick what they've done. This should be enough in the event of a warranty dispute :D

Really?! I got given them by 2 different dealers for each service carried out and I'm sure I remember Ross mentioning part of the service was giving the customer the sheet to show what was done? Maybe things have changed?

Cheers Guys, I'll have a dig through my old paperwork and do a photocopy as you suggest.

One thing I have noticed is a blister in the paint coming up to the left side of the numberplate - has anyone else had issues with paint? (or should I be starting a new thread here..)

Well, I got the service inspection sheet showing what had been checked and done when I had a Skoda service done 2 months back.

Isn't the 40_000mile service when the cambelt's due (or at least due to be inspected)?

It's meant to be, yeah. I've been getting mine done at a nearby VAG specialist, who rang me up while it was in for its 2 year inspection service and asked me if I really wanted to bother changing the brake fluid, as it was on the schedule but he'd tested it and thought it was far from needing replacing (good beyond 200 degC or something - I don't remember).

I told him to do it anyway (which elicited a comment along the lines of "it's your money"), and to be fair he did (unless he went to a lot of trouble making it look like he did), although he was definitely of the opinion that it was just a bit of a scam on SUK's part.

Not sure where I stand on that - brakes are pretty important, after all...

I think that's 60 or 80k now isn't it?

Chris

Cambelt is 4 years now even if you have not got to 60k, again I may be stupid but thats what I was led to believe.

My Fabia Vrs is coming up to 3 1/2 years old with 23k on the clock but come 4 years old the belt will be replaced though. (Along with water pump, and tensioners)

Brake fliud is every 2 years, coolant is G12 and long life stuff so doesnt need doing, and yes Pollen filter, oil oil filter, and air filter (unless you have a green cotton filter) will need replacing.

Thats what I believe anyhow

Tony
