creaking noise...

Featured Replies

hey all....

seems I may have a problem... I'm getting a "creak" from the front nearside when I go over a speedbump (the long ones that cover the width of the road...)

also same creak if the clutch is used too sharply , or there is too sharp on/off gas in lower gears (learners of course!)

everything still feels tight and good, but just the worrying noise...

any ideas?

thanks in advance....

(my guess is suspension bushes...)

Front ARB bushes?

The noise is your knees.

lol... my pacemaker!

I had a similar creaking noise when the throttle was on/off sharply.

Took it to the local dealer & after the 3rd attempt of looking, it turned out to be a clutch pipe (located under the airbox somewhere), which had come out of it's clip.

ok, after 10 hours working in the car today (and 200+ miles!) it appears the creak only happens when everything is wet..... first dry day we've had for weeks up here, and as the car and road dried, the creak dissapeared... (just after I booked it in the dealer for investigation! lol..) then went swimming in the floods again, and the creak returns..... maybe a suspension bush going "squishy" in the rain?!

Have developed almost identical symptoms to this. Mostly only when wet, but also on one occasion after aircon was on all day. Did this turn out to be the console bushes or the ARB bushes or what?

Confirmed

lol.... old thread brought up!

interesting points though..

1) it was the control arm bushes, and Skoda refused to replace them even though the car was under warrenty.

2) when I bought the fiat, I asked the dealer if he would under the same circumstances... he phoned fiat warrenty department, and said "driving instructor with an 18 month old car with 65,000 miles, suspension bushes worn out, would you replace free under warrenty?" Fiat said yes, of course we would , wouldn't matter what the mileage was, as long as it was withing the two year unlimited miles timescale, thats what a warrenty is, its under warranty for two years UNLIMITED miles.....

so... there you go skoda, you lost a customer because you say the car has a two year unlimited miles warrenty , when actually you mean its a 60k warranty. lying b@stards.....
