Orange SPV M600

Featured Replies

I quite fancy geting one of these as my next phone. Does anyone have any experience of them?

I don't really need all the functions of the phone, but I do need a good organiser, I browse the web quite a lot, and mobile email appeals as well.

It's really quite small for a PDA device which is the main selling point for me. I've never had a smartphone or owt, but I love gadgets.

It's either this or a bog standard Nokia 5500 sport for the long life & toughness of the phone.

Can you give me any reviews or alternatives?

SPV M600

I had a previous model of the orange spv, and I couldn't get along with it. Have heared nothing but great things about the MDA vario II though.

It's not a bad phone, I had one for a couple of weeks, the CPU is a bit on the slow side and the wifi consumes battery life like it's gone out of fashion.

I have got an M3100 at the moment which has the slide out keyboard and a better CPU, that would be a better bet if it's on an upgrade. That said, I may get rid of the 3100 and stick with the old Samsung as I never really use the features of Windows Mobile as when at work I tend to have the lappie with me.

Have a look over on MoDaCo there are some good honest reviews of all Windows mobile based phones on there

nah, they rock. i've had all the smartphones there are, pretty much and thse are *nice*. i'm currently using the same thing plus wifi.

if you want synch with a pc running outlook then they're a lifesaver - being able to tell exactly which meeting i'm meant to be in whilst en route is a total bonus.

they're pretty idiot proof as a phone, too, but for pc sync they're where it's at.

p.s. one of these, plus a 50 quid bluetooth gps unit, and a copy of tomtom navigator and the latest pocketgpsworld.co.uk speed camera databases *rocks* for satnav...

i use the m3100 with tomtom and i use a bluetooth gps reciever. It rocks. only downside it the size. not good for a night outs carrying. so i just pop my SIM in a old hanset.

Thanks chaps, some food for thought. I think I'll probably go with it on a 12 month contract just to get it out me system, then If I don't like it, go back to a normal phone.

Thanks for the idea of swapping the sim for nights out mluton, I think I've got an old Nokia 8250 somewhere.
