Am going to be selling my chipped Octavia VRS in a little while and wondered what the general consensus is about advertising it. Do I advertise it as chipped? Regardless of advert, do I tell potential buyers it has been chipped or just claim ignorance? (Not difficult).

Any input appreciated.

Be honest. Period.

I wouldn't advertise the chip in the advert. Although, at the bottom, include something like "Ring for full spec" So you can tell the people that it has leather upholestry as standard, Multi stack CD holder etc... Including it has been chipped.

Or get it put back to standard and get more for it...

Why would you get more for it? You would lose money, going back to your tuner, in both time, petrol and labour in order to convert it to standard.

I've just sold mine which was slightly modified and in the ad I was honest about anything. In three weeks time I had sold the car at asking price.

Don't specifically say it's chipped, but tell anyone who turns up. Should keep down the number of test pilots you get.
