How comfortable are the vrS rear seats?

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I have an Octy vrs estate on order (delivery in February). Whilst I was out with the better half this weekend I called in at a dealer so she could have a look at a vrS. For the first time I tried the back seat and I have to say that the seat back seemed very firm if not to say hard, although the squab was fine. This was the hatch not the estate but I presume they would be similar.

When carrying passengers in the rear anyone had comments about their comfort?

I would agree with you that the rear seats appear to be firm. On the one occassion I spent any length of time in the rear it was quite comfortable but then again I was quite tired!!.

The only time I have been in the back of an Octavia was the local taxi. Comfortable

enough for me.

I couldn't give a monkeys - I always sit in the front!

I haven't had any complaints though but to be honest if I had they would have been walking....!

Thanks for the replies, few that they are, I can only assume that it hasn't proven to be an issue for other owners. As a motorcyclist I find that it is often the firmer seats that are more comfortable over distance rather than the softer and apparently more plush seats. Just that in a car you sort of expect something a little more cossetting, although BMW seats are often quite firm at first aquaintance.

Not a major downside as I don't carry passengers all that often but I do like them to be comfortable when I do, guess it's the caring side of me. If I'm frightening them with my natural pace at least they can feel comfortable whilst feeling ill at ease!!;)

They don't appear to offer much lateral support if you're thinking of some 4-up demonstrations in the twisties, but that makes them all the more accomodating for the kiddie seats that are a near-permanent fixture in mine...

Enjoy the car :)
