Extending warranty cover

Featured Replies

With my SUK warranty due to expire shortly I've been looking at options for extending it with a 3rd party company like Warranty Direct.

Has anyone got any experience of them or any similar companies?

It's either extend the warranty or get down to Jabbasport for some healthy mods lmao

WD seem to be ok and tell you what parts are covered rather than are not covered.

IIRC if you take it out before your warrenty expires you don't have a 90 day wear and tear exclusion and just mention the internet thing and they will give you 13 months cover for price of 12.

Additionally get a quote now and don't take it out and they seem to offer you another £20-30 off in the post about a week or two later.

Yeah they're still advertising the benefit of taking it up within 30 days of the warranty expiring.

The extra offer sounds interesting too.

Now... what if I got greedy and took out the warranty AND booked it into Jabbasport for some fun times lol

I took out a WD policy on the Mondeo but so far haven't had to use it. As said above, it is very detailed about what is and isn't covered, so make sure it's right for you :D FWIW, I did an online quote and they kept ringing me up and discuss it with me. In the end I got upgraded to Gold cover and a few other bells and whistles and the premium knocked by

I suspect you'd have an expensive and useless bit of paper in your hand and a nicely tuned un-warrantied car

Can't have my cake and eat it I suppose :D

Well it's done over 60k now, hence the premature end to Skoda's warranty. Hopefully I'll get a call from WD to discuss my requirements then ;) ta!
