Boot door

Featured Replies

I have a 2003 Octavia Elegance diesel estate and am having trouble with the lights in the boot and the dashboard light indicating 'open door'. Even though the boot door is firmly closed, the boot lights stay on and the dashboard display says that the boot is open. It is probably only an adjustment, but I cannot find the electric contact nor can I see how to adjust the closure mechanism. Probably very simple, but...

I had the same problem with my car, same model as well, easy to fix! remove the cover from the boot so you can get access to the lock, there is a link from the handel to the lock with a ball joint on the top, turn the shaft of the rod so you make the link longer. the end result is that you have to pull on the handle a bit more to open the boot but the light stays out! now how do you fix a stuck rear passenger door and central locking that has failed!

cheers Andy

Not quite the same problem, but something similiar! About two weeks ago my estate locking would not open the car, it just seemed to attempt to unlock and then immediately lock! Looking round revealed that the boot lock was seized, the key would'nt even enter the lock. Plenty of release oil finally got the key in, I removed the interior trim and sprayed around the mechanism. All seems spot on since. So just bear in mind a neglected unused boot lock in winter can give you problems. Just give em a spray and use em now and again! Dunx
