AirCon and Reverse

Featured Replies

Heres a little stickler for you.

Have you noticed that if you put in reverse, the aircon seems to work harder?

I guess it may be becos the engine is working harder to serve the powerful rear revers lights, but my only thought.

Other than that - anyone heard of it ???

when you put the car in reverse it swithes the heater / air con to switch to recirculate thats why it sounds as if its working harder

Aparantly its to stop you sucking in fumes when going backwards

Yep - stick the car in recirculate and you'll hear the same noise :D Also try reversing with the front wipers on and you'll get a sweep of the rear window as you put it in reverse.....
