Yeah, mine said exactly the same thing - he sounded totally apathetic about it along the lines of "if you're not interested in buying the stuff I have in the showroom then go away". So much for the oft-praised Skoda dealer service. I'm all for aiming for the VW quality, but I'd prefer it if it didn't come with a side order of VW contempt for the customer as well!!!!

As a matter of curiosity which bit of your aircon failed? Mine was the evaporator unit, local Aircon specialist said he had not come across that before, and would cost about

Luckily not the compressor on mine, just the steel link pipe from the condenser to the compressor. Fantastic piece of French 'design' that is clamped rigidly to the radiator crossmember with steel clips but no rubber inserts. Therefore no movement allowed and so over a relatively short period it causes the pipe to fracture. Fantastic.
