Hi, Vrs Advice needed

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a new member from Leeds and have Just registered and am needing advice about the octavia VRS.

I have an Alfa 2.4Jtd at the moment that has been tuned and re-mapped to almost 200BHP, but am wanting to change to an octavia Vrs.

Are there any issues i should look out for?

When does the cambelt need to be changed?

I have seen a couple of 02 examples that look good, both around 65k on them, is this milage ok to start modifiying them?

Are the engines strong?

Many thanks in advance for all advice

Merry x mas and hope you all have a good new year!!:D

Craig

Welcome matey. I dont know much about the Octys myself, but if there anything like the rest of the range, i would say there good runners and tough engines. I think normally if u get one from a Skoda dealer you get a years warranty with it anyway, so if your unsure go to a main dealer.

welcome cragmaz69 , go to the Octavia forum there is loads of info about those cars on there , the engines are pretty tough units , cambelt change info will be in a "sticky " thread at the top of that forum

These engines go on well into the 100k. the cam belt is 60K or 4 years iirc.
