Panasonic Viera is spot on

The Sharp is very good with a Freeview source, excellent for Xbox 360. I had some picture quality issues with analogue TV but that turned out to be a poor signal.

The Panasonic and Toshiba also very good. Although some of the Toshibas start making a buzzing noise after a while (so I have read although you can take it back if this happens as of course its a fault).

I think you would need to buy the more expensive Sony than the 32" they are currently doing for 699. There is a second range of Sony which are much better for nearer 1k for a 32". I dunno if it is 300 or 400 quid better than the Tosh/Sharp/Panasonic though.

When buying a budget lcd, keep an eye out on the pixel response rate, anything greater than 8ms and you will have bad picture smearing/ blurring with moving action. The lower the number the better. Some of the budget screens have a 25ms response and they are terrible for moving action, and the 360 to.

I got a 32" one from Aria a few months ago. It is £425 now. 8ms response time. Very happy with it
