I am quite happy with my TomTom and I use the GPRS World website for speed camera database list.....

Obviously with all satnav units you would be silly to trust them 100%...!

I had a TomTom700 and absolutely loved it. However, I have also heard good things about the Garmin units. Best bet is to go somewhere like John Lewis and have a play. ;)

I have a garmin spend your money take your choice (local accessory dealer doing garmin i3 for £129)

my brother got a Garmin C510 for christmas and i think its very good, no bluetooth though.

I've owned TomTom and Garmin units and prefer the mapping detail and functionality of the TomTom. With the TomTom you can see all the twists and turns of the road ahead, especially on country roads, in great detail. If there is a sharp corner ahead then it is displayed that way. On the Garmin the detail is less and the road display is a vague representation of what is ahead, almost more cartoon like.

I do think the Garmin routing is slightly better than TomTom but the lack of road detail accuracy was a issue for me.

TomTom all the way for me no comparison especially with the deals that you can get at present, just upgraded my TTG 700 to the new 910 and well impressed.

Simple ...tom tom works ...and works very well, no messing about......we have a shared one in the house (my sons) but I borrow it from time to time and have nothing but praise for it

Have a Tom Tom 910, Xmas present from Swmbo.

Can be got now for £300, Can be used as an mp3 aswell as bluetooth for your phone.
