I went and had a nosey around for some front speakers for an Octy MK I and was told that the pioneer 1703 were the ones to buy however the sales guy went on and on about amps and headunits etc then came back with a price of

wouldnt bother with pioneer speakers mate, plenty better speakers for the same money!

Yep, but the 1702 are sat in my loft, are free and are components.

Other thing is the octy needs a very shallow basket.

Fair enough, however you do really need to amp them, otherwise you will hardly notice the differnce.

As for the shallow basket, get some adapters (i think mk4 golf ones might fit)
