rear brakes

Featured Replies

had my 05 fabia vrs 7000 miles, now for 2 months and over the last couple of weeks i noticed that the rear brakes at started to make a grating noise so decided to go to my local dealer chapmans of Pickering this morning

thinking the worst (cost wise) they replaced rear discs and pads under warranty as car was under 12000 miles

so as this been a common problem with the vrs?

anyway thanks to chapmans:)

my rears are the original discs, and second set of pads at 65k ;)

I do high miles though, and I think they tend to rust/stick/seize/grate ect if they are not used too often ... if you leave your car without driving it for more than a couple of days, leave the handbrake off.... if you only drive a few miles, give it a good 'canning' once in a while to take the glaze off, and the they should be fine :)

thanks i should have also stated that both discs had grooves scored into them as well as if the pads had i stone or something embedded in to them
