If the oil warning light comes on does it mean low oil level or low oil pressure? Not quite the same thing I think. Am I right?

Mine came on while doing about 90 on the M'way (Spain) and it got about a pint within about 500 metres cos a service area was that close--flukey.

Amber light means low oil but you can carry on.

Red light means low oil pressure, pull over and stop the car.

If the amber light comes up it isn't an immediate problem but make sure you top up with the correct oil.

I think I read somewhere that if it comes on orange, it's low level, if it's red, it's low pressure. I think it's the same with Maxidot but so far I've only ever seen orange messages (like low fuel) thankfully!
