Wipers won't turn off

Featured Replies

Nipped out to the shops last night and found that I couldn't turn the wipers off using the stalk control. They are working continuously in normal speed, it is possible to make them go faster by selecting the top most setting on the stalk switch but I can't turn them off at all. They start up as soon as you turn on the ignition to show all the warning lights.

The car is an 03 Octavia vRS which was bought with a 12 months warranty from a Skoda dealer.

Is it easy to fix or should I contact the dealer and ask them to look at it - 80 mile round trip?

Thanks in advance

You could probably pull a fuse or something but as it's under warranty, I'd probably get it looked into. It could be a dodgy switch or something but if a loom is a bit damaged & shorting somehow, I'd want that changed under warranty for sure :)

relay, wiper motor or stalk.

I'd defo get it looked at under warrenty.
