Red LED on driver's door on unlock

Featured Replies

Have noticed a couple of times that when I unlock the car, the red light in the driver's door stays on solid when I have got in the car and I'm driving. Still getting used to the key so I do tend to lock then unlock by accident which probably confuses the alarm system. Nothing in the manual mentions a constant light though ? Any ideas ?

same problem here. it solves by turning off the ignition and then back on. but why???

It has happened to me once, at night, and it was quite distracting as I could see this bright red light at the edge of my vision.

The only time I noticed the LED on while driving was due to a fault in the central convenience unit.

Might not be any harm to get the car scanned by someone with VAG Com.

Happens to mine too.

Happened to me once so far. Only noticed it when I started driving. Switching the ignition off and on again cured it.

Happened to mine once the other day, locking and unlocking solved the 'problem'.

Happened to me too the other day-did give me some concern, especialy after the recent problems...

just locked and unlocked it again-no repeat so far!

Mine is constantly on for almost a week now, locked or unlocked. No fault recorded, though. Everything seems to work. Any ideas?

Is there a way to test the LED via VAG-COM?

I have experienced this today. Any known resolution yet?

If it's an intermittant problem, I would guess there may be some water/ corrosion to the pins in the cenral convenience connector.

If it is a continuous problem, my guess would be the central convenience unit & wiring loom will need replacing.
