Radio coding with VAG-COM

Featured Replies

I'm consistently getting the same errors in VAG-COM with regards to my radio (at least, thats what I think it is)

The original radio was replaced with an aftermarket unit, which in turn has been replaced with a VW MFD G unit (of which I am lead to believe the part number is 3B0 035 191 G, although the part number above (3B0 035 186 D) wields a similar result). The car is a 2002 Octavia vRS.

Can anyone spot the obvious?

I'm sure there is a very similar post on here from fairly recently where Uwe or Sebastian answered the question.

Did you fit a switch to allow video on the move?? Could that be the problem and do the faults clear if you make the switch?

I tried a bit of searching on the fault codes, and I did come accross a post of them going into the subject of adaptation, but as I have no idea what that means, I do not know if it is applicable to me or not.

There is a switch on the MFD for video on the go, but that is always set to not allow it (i.e. normal operation).

The video on the move switch fitted in plug an play looms probably cuts the gala feed so if its open circuit your navi will not operate correctly when navigating. (Illegal to use, of course as allows watching by driver on the move)

Yes, I am aware of this, hence it is not in use.

The readyness is a different issue I think.

I was suggesting that your issue might be the single wire operation of the Databus.

So a hardware problem, rather than a 'configuration' issue?

Looks like it to me yes.
