As above I may be buying a 01 4x4 Octavia Estate. It is in good nick with FSH at a local reputable garage for

4 years or 60K for the cambelt, IIRC.

Im talking about the 180 bhp vRS engine below.

The 1.8T engine produces a good MPG if your doing longer runs but on my shorter drives i get around 27 - 32 MPG (8 miles to work, stop and start)

Motorway runs i can get 40 MPG if not more.

I will make sure the cambelt is done. I have also read on the forum that it is a good idea to get the water pump done at the same time.

Oh, if it uses a bit more fuel than the basic Octavia then I will live with that.
