Flexible Servicing--Oh God !

Featured Replies

It's like this. Bought Octavia in Jan 05.

In Jan 06 had full service inc. oil of course. Service book has space for "Next service due on" and all it has is " Long Life" written in.

On the door frame is a sticker that says "Next service due Jan 2008"

Now when I switch on I get a flashing spanner and nothing else.

Playing with button B I can get between Memory 1 and memory 2 and I am told my next service is due in -1 (minus1) and 0.00.

Talk about confused !! What should I do next apart from tearing my hair out.

Thanks.

Drop by the dealer and ask them to sort it out. Sounds like the service interval may not be setup properly. I think it is also possible "by playing around with the button" to switch to fixed intervals.

Was this ever solved?

My 2007 petrol vrs has started the flashing spanner. It's only there for about 10 secs following engine start, and then disappears!

No mileage left indication, just the clock and a flashing spanner displayed.

It's a variable QG1 presently on 28759 miles. Previous owner records show 1st service was May 2009 @ 16049. So roughly 1275m and 18months. The previous owner did also have a one off oil change in Dec 2008 @ 12400 miles.

Could well be due a service, but I thought I would get a fixed spanner, with an adjacent mileage countdown?

Not tried interrogating any of the memories, as don't want to play where I don't know.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Flashing spanner means it needs a service as it has counted down passed the time/mileage limit.
