Hi Ed

What have the insurance company said?

Usually the insurance company suggests if you use the appointed repairers then you get you Courtesy car, if you sort out the repairers your self, you might have to sort out a car your self.

Thats what happened to me some years ago, mine was a van so they don't have Courtesy vans (well big ones) so I had to hire one, then claim the cost back

the 3rd parties insurers will cover the excess plus car hire, i'm just wondering who will do the best job on the repair?

I had someone reverse into my Octavia vRS whilst I had it. Their insurer wanted me to use one of their bodyshops , but I wanted to use my Local Skoda dealer , as my car was still in warranty , and I didnt want to give Skoda an excuse for voiding said warranty if I needed to claim any time in the future. I got a car from the Skoda garage anyway , so that didn't bother me. I'm sure it says in the handbook that if you have the car repaired by a non Skoda dealer , that the bodywork / paintwork warranty may be void? I'm not 100% clear on whether this would be the case in reality , however.

Tree branch fell on my Skoda Fabia in October (see previous posts) badly denting the top surface of the nearside rear wing. Dealer quoted for replacement of wing @
