Strangely my Rear wiper has started playing up, it only works when it wants to, anyone got any ideas?

anywho, on my old polo there was a dodgey connection where the wiring loom goes through that little rubber into the tailgate, i can only assume it was caused by the wires flexing because of the boot being opened and closed
