Boot Carpet Question

Featured Replies

My mate fitted a sub box for me in the boot on the passenger side yesterday and it can't "easily" be removed, I've since noticed that the carpet is trapped under the box so I can't access the spare wheel etc.

Does anyone know if there are any cables etc running along the boot floor on the passenger side? I want the slice the carpet carefully with a stanley knife to enable access but don't want to cut through anything. I'd be cutting in from the plastic round screw on thing on the left (one of four along the back of the boot) down to the light cluster on the passenger side.

I'd like to cut it without removing the box, but obviously don't want to dmage anything so if there is anything there will remove it.

Can anyone confirm it's safe to cut and save me a lot of hassle taking it out? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

no there isnt anything under the carpet apart from the spare wheel etc.

but then do you really want a great big cut mark going through the paint in the boot?

A very good point! I might try sliding a sheet of hardboard or something under it first...
