Dashboard flashing insp

Featured Replies

Hi everybody

A quick question for the furby vrs 2006 model

My wife`s just phoned me on her way to work the readout under the mileage is flashing insp with a spanner.

Is this just flashing because the car needs a service or is it something else

I was told the car was not on variable servicing but was 10k miles a year or 12months which came sooner the car has only 7250 miles on the clock.

The car has been left unused for 14 days due to a suprise holiday to tenerife for the family.

Any help would be great due to my wife getting a little worried.

cheers

wouldnt worry about it, probably just down to the car not been set up properly at its pdi. go in to your stealer and they will reset it for you.

No fabia is capable of variable servicing, as most of the required sensors are missing.

Normally the insp and spanner means that you car is in need of a service. When the dealer delivered the car they should have reset the counter, if they didnt its counting the 12 months from the date of manufacture.

To reset inspection or oil change warning :-

Push in mileage reset and turn to right. Turn ignition on and hold until you get 3 lines on the display.

It is now reset.

Keep in mind if you do this, then the car will not notify you when the next service is due as it will start the 10K clock again from now.

hi everyone

Cheers for the reply`s

I`ll contact Hayseldon Skoda tomorrow where I bought the car from to see what they say about the situation but their aftersales is alittle poor.

So I`ll have Bickerton Skoda number ready to gain their side of the situation due to their aftersale is fantastic used them to sort out the stutter on the vrs as hayseldon didn`t know of a fix which had been out for weeks.

My '06 Fabia spanner +Inspection warning came on at 6850 miles at the beginning of January. Basically I dont have anything else to add to what has previously been stated in this thread but at least you won't feel alone in your demise. I'm leaving the dash warning operative until I get the first service done when the car has actually covered 10,000 miles. I'll just have to insist at that time that the garage synchronise the service timing so that all will in accordance ready for all subsequent service intervals.

Same issue here, cars just one year old and has done 25,000 miles on the nose. Had its 10,000 service, 20,000 service, and now apparantly wants an oil change. from wht i've read would it be fair to assume that the car has decided that it is one year old, and therefore needs its oil changed?

My Seat never did this, it just askd for a service 10,000 miles after the last one.
