How much for a 1.4tdi comfort?

Featured Replies

Hi,

a work colleague is wanting to buy a Fabia that is very frugal. I pointed him towards the 1.4tdi as he was looking at a 1.9sdi!!!

after pointing out that S began for slow (and also shares in oil  ) he has decidied to look at the 1.4tdi.

He is wanting to spend around 4k for one with no more than 50k miles.

is this possible? I have looked on autotrader and none came up:confused:

can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Are dealers a good place to start looking? I know they may charge a bit more.

You can do a used car "national search" on the Skoda UK web-site to give you an idea of the going rate for any particular model.

Just looked - cheapest on there is £6,495 for 2003 plate with 31k miles.

On that basis I would be surprised if you fnd anything with less than 50k miles for 4 grand

Seen a 1.4TDI classic with Plus pack (A/C & PAS) for £6999 on an 55 plate I think.

Some dealers seem to think they can't exist at this price though, althought they blatantly can as there are 06's for £7299 at the same place.

No chance, the sdi however isnt that bad, he could look at the 1.4tdi in the mk5 polo and ibiza though

Whats wrong with the 1.9 PD 100 Comfort? They have been out longer than the 1.4 TDI so will probably be cheaper , and still give decent MPG , and a bit of performance too!

I think he maybe looking still. he does want to run a cheap frugal car. I have seen a 1.4 tdi classic for 4.7k but im not sure he'll like the interior having just seen one myself. who knows. he has an M plate astra 1.6 that does a massive 31mpg on the combined! this is the reason for the change
