Hello.

I was asked at work today what sort of car I drove and I said 'Skoda Fabia vRS'

It occoured to me that I always say that my car is a vRS. I am not sure why really.

So vRS drivers - do you specify to people who ask that your car is a vRS??

I usually specify that I drive an Octy vRS. Even then most people still ask what it is  Mention that it has the same 1.8T engine fitted to the Audi TT and suddenly a light goes off in their head and they know that you are talking about something which could be fast, even if it is a Skoda

I guess Fabia vRS drivers must get the same blank looks, except you havn't got the turbocharged petrol engine that is in a well known but overpriced car to enlighten them. You could always tell them that your Fabia can do 50mpg (and is slightly faster than the Mustang slaying Fabia 2.0l) though ;) :P

I usually have to explain that I drive a car almost identical to the MkV GTI for people to be impressed, but no talking is needed when I take them for a wheel-spinning session of chaos.:thumbup:

I say a furby vrs which makes people laugh kind of an ice breaker.

Then i proudly explain i drive a skoda fabia vrs and I`ve converted a few after taking them for a run out.

vRS sounds sexy :)

I was the Skoda driver at our depot, now there are to many to count.

They still laugh at Skodas over here so I tend to just say I drive a Skoda and only elaborate if the person seems at all interested in cars. I also mention the Audi TT engine. :)

I just say "it's a Skoda"...

... then let the car speak for itself.

"mongrel" sounds ****e..... but then a quick test run usually brings them round to preaching the heinz 57 way.

yea i know whay u guys mean bout blank looks....... the TT comparison usaly solves it, but i normaly just say i drive a RS, octavia, the confused looks are great evan better as disaper from the traffic light's in to the distance on a confused driver! (its better when its a civic, Sir etc honda drivers take it so badly)

I love doing that

Hey Em. what about us 4x4 drivers, :( Weve got the same engine too,

and BMW drivers tend to look a bit miffed when you leave them behind.

I just say it's a Skoda, Then let them ask what sort when they catch up again.:D :D :D

.

The same goes with Ford Mondeo drivers, they also tend to look a bit miffed when you pass them, and even more so when they realise what just passed them ;)

I just say a Skoda a leave it at that. If they know anything about cars they will ask further questions. If not they just say 'Oh, I've heard that they are better nowadays...' or something similar.

I tend not to want to tell people too much, I think it sounds like I'm desperately trying to justify the choice of car. We all know what we are driving is great, who cares what if the average eurobox driver 'thinks' he knows?

I just say "A Skoda" or at the most "A diesel powered Skoda" and just leave it at that.

Normally "Skoda Fabia" for me! Most people don't know much about cars. If they do and they ask more, then its the vRS ;)

"Skoda Fabia" is all I say. If people enquire further, then that's tough on them as I can then start spealing (sp?) off the spec. :D

Usually state the vRS bit, but only really cos there are lots of base models in any car range from 1.2 up (fabia e.g) and I like people to know I bought the quicker one!!!

And the audi link goes a long way except with my mate who's a manager for them who simply said "well, almost the same engine" HAHA!

The same goes with Ford Mondeo drivers, they also tend to look a bit miffed when you pass them, and even more so when they realise what just passed them ;)

You obviously drive on different roads to me - fair to say, I've never been passed by a Skoda and I certainly never look miffed ;)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... Oh **** sorry i forgot to breath while laughing

Fabia VRS vs Mondeo 1.6

Fabia VRS vs Mondeo 2.2 TDCI

Fabia VRS vs Mondeo ST 220

Octy VRS vs Mondeo 1.6

Octy VRS vs Mondeo 2.2 TDCI

Octy VRS vs Mondeo ST 220

Very different stories for each

I used to just say "a diesel Skoda".

Now I drive "a Focus Ghia" :(

I've had quite a few retired people who come over to ask me how I like the car as they seem shocked seeing a young person driving a Skoda ..

We now know how good they are and we're not about to give up on them

Now I drive "a Focus Ghia" :(

I drive a 2.0-16v turbo ;)

Chris

I drive a 2.0-16v turbo ;)

Chris

Lol his is only a 1.8 16v turbo :P

I just like to say "a skoda", I like it when they laugh at me, it confirms their ignorance / stupidity - to these people, what is the point in trying to explain?
