Steering feels hard. Any ideas??

Featured Replies

My Octy 2 seems to feel a lot heavier on the steering of late. SWMBO cant tell but reckons there is a rumbling noise from the front drivers side not too disimilar to a wheel bearing rumble, yet I only hear this occassionally instead of constantly.

I've checked the tyre pressures and they are fine but it feels heavier when steering/turning to the right but a bit to the left also.

Could this be a power steeering problem?? Anyone else suffered similar and is this a common fault on all Octy 2's.

My Superb feels much lighter but then again is a different car and size.

I dont want to book it into the dealers and make a tit of myself should it just be the fact I drive a Superb too..

Get it booked in. No point taking the risk IMO.

it might be becuase there is a little bit of air in the power steering circuit.....

check to make sure the resovior cap is nice and tight and that the fluid is up to the right level

i have almost the same problem ....my steering seems harder since the car was new.i thought it is ok until i've compared my steering to another oct2 and the other one was much lighter .... so what can i do in this case ...is there a solve ...i want to see opinions from others who had this problem ...or any ideas ..?!
