Which Broadband Service?

Featured Replies

I need to drag my parents into the 21st century and get them off their infuriatingly slow 'dial up' service. They have an average telephone bill of around

Most other people swear by Zen internet .....don't touch Plusnet I spend most of my time swearing at them

Are they Sky TV customers? If so, is the Sky LLU Broadband available in their area? They could have 'free' broadband that way.

That's a shame.

OT: That's interesting to hear, as I have been thinking of switching as their LLU service has recently become active in my area.

Have a look at Tiscali, Broadband and 24/7 free STD calls for under £20 +add the £10 BT line rental. seems a great deal to me

I've been with them for more than a year with no problems at all.

orange broad band 8meg £19.99 a month and free calls to 100 countries worldwide anytime day or night and you get a free wireless router so your house will be wireless

I would have said another vote for PlusNet, having just had my free upgrade to 8meg activated (after a bit of trouble with connectivity, admittedly) however, I received an email the other day saying they've been sold to BT retail which may or may not be a good thing. Expect lots of delays with new orders while the sale is going through... :thumbdwn:

But they ought to be quite a good proposition again once everything's settled down!:)

I believe the sale has been going through since last November......... not that I've noticed any difference in my level of service :D

Chris

BT couldn't possible **** things up on the scale of plusnet, and won't be able to say "yes it's a BT problem" even when everything proves it isn't.
