Handbrake Adjustment and Rear Shocks.

Featured Replies

Hi.

New to forum but already been a great help for me doing my front discs/pads and rear pads and cleaning my MAF.

Had my 2001 Elegance 110 TDi Estate from new and now need to do a few jobs (have to say best car I have ever had)

Just changed my rear pads, do I need to adjust my hand brake (used proper wind back tool) ? if yes how?

Noticed both rear shocks the rubber boots have split half way down (and fallen down) will this fail the MOT (due soon)?

If yes any suggestions genuine Skoda or other makes? saw some Koni red or yellows?

Good news, you only need the bump stops for the back if they arent leaking, couple of quid each if they have split and the dust sheild has fallen down, not an MOT failure anyhow.

You handbrake will self adjust given a fair few miles to bed the pads in.

Thanks for that, hope I explained properly about the shocks its the rubber bellow type cover over the shock that has split in two and fallen down, exposing the shock piston shaft to the elements. Can these be replaced.

Thanks for info on handbrake.

Yep they are just two foam bushes, pretty common.
