I'm back...

Featured Replies

Technically I guess most people will say I was never here before. Having barely contributed to any of the forums in all my time in Skoda ownership, I thought now was the time to thank Briskoda for all the useful info I picked up whilst I had my Fabia VRS, and join Freedom.

Seeing as the Fab had a "disagreement" with a drystone wall down on the A628 in South Yorkshire, and a lengthy argument with Elephant.co.uk over paying out (which they still haven't...) I've decided to stick with Skoda. I pick up a Race Blue VRS midweek

So in short; ta to anybody that's helped out in the past. VRStu your Fabia site was invaluable, as is your Octy one. Look forward to hanging about and being a bit more proactive in future.

:)

race blue?? that seems to be proving quite a popular colour...... good luck with elephant.... tis like trying to get a staright answer from a raddish.... it aint never gonna happen!

Written-off Fabia to an Octavia Mk2 vRS - anyone else wanna join our gang? :P

Hope you enjoy the car

Race Blue does seem a common choice - does look good though.

I always struggle to deviate from black on my cars though.... :)

No escaping you :P ;)

Hope they pay out, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your new car :D

My original choice was actually silver, then stumbled across an offer that was too good to miss. I've only seen race blue's on the road up North actually, so it's the most common around here for sure.

18"s, Maxidot, xenons and the good old jumbo box. It's in a different league to the Fabia, as good as that was. Roll on Thursday!

Race Blue still outsells all other colours combined on the new vRS by 3 to 1 so I'm led to believe!.

I'm not suprised. Glad to be different though :)

The R32 comes is a similar colour and that looks good too.

Glad to be different though :)

Indeed, we are the 'silent' majority ;):D

Welcome back Mr Blakeburn:thumbup:

Obviously when I say 'different', I mean different from everyone else, not different from my last two cars....

Ha ha never thought of it like that! I have loved and enjoyed them all for different reasons.

My Golf was was the first new car I owned and I washed and cleaned it nearly every weekend. My brother has it now and I still reckon it is one of the best looking Mk 4s around. Oh and the V5 engine sounds good too.

The TT I didn't have for that long but loved the way the V6 engine sounded, and it was fast. Totally unpractical though. Only washed and cleaned it every other week.

The VRs I am less passionate about than either the Golf or the TT but respect it for other reasons. It is pretty much as quick as the TT (with the exception of from a standing start), handles better than both of them (although the TT with the quattro system was good) but is practical aswell. We are expecting a baby very soon so practicality has to take precedence. As an overall package, it beats everything else on offer at the moment I reckon. OK I'd prefer a GTi or an R32 but they're not big enough and cost a little bit more. Only wash and clean it every month (or so)!!
