fabia door locks

Featured Replies

My fabia is failing to lock/unlock with the key activated switch, locks ok with key inserted in door lock, anybody give me guidance on what the problem could be

Have you tried replacing the battery in your key?

Seconded. About

HI! This is my first post on here, as I'm new to Skoda!

Just bought a X reg Fabia 1.4 Elegance off a private seller. And very pleased I am too!! :)

I'm also having RCL problems  changed the batteries today, with no effect :thumbdwn: . Tried the advuce printed in the user manual for re-syncing with the car - nowt  ! Also tried the spare key in ignition, lock doors, press buttons trick printed elswhere on here - all to no avail :gnasher:. Does anyone have any bright ideas? I'd be eternaly grateful!

(PS: Do you think I'm over-doing the smilies??)

Does the remote have an LED on it? Is it flashing?

May need re programming with diagnostics.

It doesn't have an LED/flasher, no. It's one of those folding key jobbies with 2 buttons; lock and unlock.

I would get it re programmed if you can, may need a new remote.

OK, thanks for the reply. Will pop to the local Skoda garage tomorrow and ask.... unless someone knows an alternative place to take it - ie: cheeper!!

(I think I'm going to like it here!)

See if anyone local has VAG COM.

  • 2 weeks later...

sorry to hijack thread, but my friend has a y reg fabia and she had to turn the key and pull the door handle at the same time to open door.

I

set out to have a look and try to fix problem, took door card off etc, only for the problem to rectify itself,

any ideas what it could be
