Window full closure

Featured Replies

Hello all,

After reading the manual I found that you can get any open windows to close by turning the key in the drivers door lock to the lock position and holding it there. This works great, but I'm curious if it can be programmed to do it with the remote instead?

Is it a job for VAG-COM or does it require extra hardware?

Thanks,

Chris.

hi mate,

it cant be done with vag-com, i have the autowindow module fitted to mine works a treat, to fit it is quite simple, just remove the door card and scotch lock some connectors. if you want one and get stuck ill bob round and give ya hand. full instructions are in another thread tho.

cheers john

surely you can rewire the locking mech to do that with the remote..? so long as someone has the remote/locking diagram of how its done.. I was semi interested in this too but it seemed like no-one has found a solution yet and i dont have huge amount of time to take my car apart :P

On reading the other threads.. anyone know the cheating way of using a vag com and do it yet by any chance? :D

It's funny cos it works with the key turned in the lock, so the car is capable of doing it. It's odd that it doesn't support it with the remote which also locks the doors just like the key.

It can be done without the KVM or Autowindow i believe using that dos program but its finding the instructions is the tricky bit..

in theory all the kit is apparent in the fabia to do the job but, im sure this has come up many times and it cant be done for some reason, something to do with voltage or something...I think lummox explained this one time. check using the search tool

yer its a 5v system so cannot be done with vag-com, but can be down with aftermarket items such as autowindow.

i presuming the 5v thing you guys are talking about is USB cable to vag com. What people have said in the threads is using serial ports not USB's and an alternative is to use a "VDC" Which is a similar program to Vag-com however it cant be run via xp dos, so you need to make it a bootdisk.

nope not vag-com, the actual central locking is a 5volt system and not 12 like on the golf based cars, so it is very difficult without a third party device to make the windows work from the remote.
