Rear Wash Wipe Pipe - Photos

Featured Replies

Octavia II hatchback? Rear wash-wipe doesn't work? Left rear C-pillar sounds like a drain pipe when you try the rear wash-wipe?

Me too! :(

I knows there have been several posts already on this subject, but I thought I'd post a couple of photos in case it helps anyone else.

The fault was with the pipe joint in the left rear of the boot. Here's a photo of the pipe joint (red arrow) after removing the carpet trim from the left side of the boot.

A dealer originally 'fixed' the problem, but didn't bother to mop up the water that had collected in the well underneath the CD changer (see blue arrow in the photo). So after a couple of days the wet area of carpet was still getting bigger and more sodden as water sloshed out of the well and into the main part of the boot! So be sure to dry this area out!

The cable harness from the pipe joint down to underneath the CD changer also gets sodden as it sits in the pool of water.

It's probably possible to get to the pipe joint without completely removing the carpet now that I know where the joint is, but the carpet was so wet I had to take the whole thing out to dry it out - so good opportuinity for some photos!

Hope this helps others with the same problem!

Thanks for taking the trouble to show us this.
