New Rear ARB - making the most of it

Featured Replies

hi guys just after a bit of direction with this new toy. Purchased it today off a fellow member and had it fitted at Jabba:D Now the car does feel so more stable now, but im wondering what i should expect it driving characteristics. I clearly dont want to be going off road if you know what i mean. Any guys that have this mod your wisdom would be appreciated.

If you lift off mid corner, you'll get oversteer. But why you'd want to lift off with the ARB is a mystery unless you're in to show-boating on the roads lol ;)

*Cough*

Basically it will feel more stable in faster corners, and also keep the back end under control when changing direction... on the track a bit of lift-off can be used to tighten the line into a corner :D

having the ARB round anglesey made a noticeable difference of a couple of seconds on a lap..

Running short of minerals would do it ;)

think i need to hit the B roads and experiment then

Approach a roundabout that at the kind of speed you know you would usually start drifting offline around - Then turn in really tightly and lift off. You will feel the back end go out a bit, but it will not be uncontrollable. A small flick of the wheel brings it back in line, and yet you've just gone rather fast around a corner. :D Experiment where there is scope for error... please. ;)

It really does help a lot. On the airfield in Czech Republic I was flooring 2nd gear with it on full lock and the car was turning inside a circle of around 15 metres or less. That was a special surface though.
