Burning smell

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Just got back from the car wash, and there's a funny plastic-burning smell coming from the engine bay.

I let me car cool for half an hour (my car is not overheating mind you) and when I checked the oil, it's a little too low for normal...I've got another 8000kms to go til my next service! :(

Any ideas? Is that possibly what's giving off the burning smell?

In the meantime, Top it up with oil, other than that, have a quick check around to make sure nothing is rubbing.

have you had a good sniff around to tyr to work out where the burning smell is coming from??

I had the same thing once when i washed my car Mil, It happened around 2 weeks ago, checked everythin with my car including the oil level and everything was fine, I didnt smell anything again the next day.. I hope it wouldnt be an issue for ur car anyways.. good luck mate
