I have an 06 Octavia L&K estate with the stream HU.

Occasionally, when starting the car in the morning, I get this quite loud boom which sounds like something falling off the garage roof onto the car. The noise actually is a loud boom coming through the speaker system and is sometimes followed by the stereo not working at all for 5-10 minutes. This has only happened about 4 or 5 times in nearly twelve months and I wondered if anyone else has experience anything similar that may help the dealers pinpoint the problem

There is a old bulletin on that, not sure what the fix is though as I didnt see a follow up for it. However there is a software update for the headunit, ask your local dealer they should be able to help you out.

I had a similar problem when I first replaced the HU. Turned out to be a loose plug at the back. Pushed everything in firmly and the problem vanished.
