What Size Speakers

Featured Replies

Dose any one know what size speakers will fit in a skoda fabia vrs in the front doors i have got some alpine type x speakers (17cm) out of my old car but they are very deep i havent brought a fabia yet but can anyone help me

you will peobably need some speaker adaptors, they are the same in the vw beetle and vw polo and lupo i think. you are very limited for space in the fabia because the window mechanism gets in the way.

i have alpine components and they fit fine.

From previous postings on here (and my own experience) the max depth you can fit is around 64mm.

6.5in width is fine with brackets.

you dont need speaker adaptors in the 6n2 polo.... you can re-use the original ones after filing down a litttle bit of plastic... the lupo ones are totallty different, and to get them off you have to drill out the rivets..... the beetle speaker adaptors are the same as the mk4 golf...... dont know about the fabia ones tho, never seen any:)

Your better using shallow mount speakers, i measured the total room their is (including speaker excusion) you should fit a speaker no bigger than about 55mm (to allow for excursion) therefore i have ordered some of these:

Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource.

Got them on american ebay for just over £100 delivered

when i ordered my speakers from car audio direct i ordered some speaker adaptors as well, when they came the box said vw lupo and beetle on it but no fabia. the speaker did need to be drilled out, mine are the type r ones and are quite slim.

Sorry to drag an old thread up but did you manage to make the TYpe X speakers fit in the doors?

If it helps anybody ,I have read on this site and , and on places that advertise spacers , that from a Golf mark4 will also fit a Fabia

Good speakers them

I made my own speaker adapters from MDF.

Hi Lummox,

can you remember what depth your homemade MDF spacers were please?

thanks

Andy

I cant exactly, more than likely 15mm as thats the thickness of the MDF I usually have hanging around.

thanks

Andy
