Got another courtesy car - This time I'm impressed!

Featured Replies

My beloved octy vrs is in the dealers for a spot of warranty work (picked up by them while in for service incidently, most impressed!) and I've got another Fabia 1.2, only this time I'm actually impressed with it  .

The last two I've had have just been so gutless that I felt like cutting holes in the floor and making like fred flintstone  but this one seems to go like the clappers for a little'n.

It's a 1.2 ambience and I'm guessing it must be the 12 valve version ???

Gets up to 70 mph with relative ease, allowing me to drive at the speeds I'm used to (well mostly  ) and seems to handle half reasonably too, not even understeering when I was trying it on roundabouts with a welded to the floor accelerator.

Well done to bridgwater Irvine's this time  (can I have a vRS next time :P ), even SWMBO might consider one now after abandoning any ideas of a fabia based on the first one I had.............

If it was an Ambiente it was definitely a 12v, which would probably explain your new found love for the 1.2 :) The 12v version is a much better performer than the 6v, and I think the 12v is a little quieter too. Both are getting more power for the forthcoming new Fabia too

Yep, the 1.2 12v really is a suprisingly brilliant little engine!

As I said I was quite surprised at how well it performs for what it is!

Pity it's not got any balls for overtaking as this morning I was stuck behind an Audi A3 1.8T (driven by a woman  ) with me thinking "if only I had my 1.8T I could've blown her away miles ago"! - Still, got 30mpg average where I normally only get 24 on the back lanes in

Mine went in for bodywork today, thanks to some bar steward, and I got a 1.3 Totota Yaris.........................................No comment.
