Help - Engine Coolant level low!

Turned the car on this morning and within a few seconds the red engine coolant light started flashing, checked the coolant levels, and its just below the min amount.

What shall i do??

Yes it is -4 and the car is covered with snow..

THE LEVELS ARE LOW!!! IVE SEARCHED BUT CANT FIND AN ANSWER TO A LOW LEVEL, JUST FALSE ALARMS! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Top it up so it's a bit above minimum then keep an eye on it to see if it goes down again...

Water? Its about 1cmish below min level, but it was fine at about 10pm last night..

If it's only about a cm below minimum then tap water should be fine to top it up with - certainly better than driving with it below min.

You might have a leak somewhere, but I've known plenty of cars just randomly lose some coolant for no apparent reason - they shouldn't, but if you top it up and it doesn't go down again it's probably not worth worrying too much about.

Ok thanks, just topped it up with a bit of water and all is fine now.

I will keep an eye on it see if it drops any more.
