Locked my house phone - HELP!!

Featured Replies

Some how (I think the dog was sat on it) I have managed to lock my house phone. Won't let me press any buttons, unless it is to answer a call. There is a little key symbol on the display screen.

Really irritating as I no longer have the instructions?

Picture of phone attached - any ideas??

Before anyone suggest, have already tried taking the batteries out.

And for some reason Google has stopped working as well

make and model might help

got stacks of manuals at work, could get lucky

Can't tell from the photo what phone it is. You can quite often download the manual from the manufacturer's website, but if Google's not working that's probably not any use to you. Let me know what it is, and I'll have a look for you, if you want...?

Okay, bought from the car phone wearhouse about 10 months ago

On the base it says:

TalkTalk

Model: TT100

Power Supply: 9VAC

S/N0604002573

If you press any button on the phone, the display usually tells you which button to press to unlock it a la any mobile phone.

It's usually the hash key, left depressed for about 2 seconds.

hth.

No, nothing like that. If I press the buttons it makes the 'beep' noise, but nothing telling me what buttons to press.

Doing my head in, what if I have to call 999?

have you tried calling 999 ? :D

Can't find anything on Google, but it sounds like you've activated either the keylock or the call barring. Both should be accessible using the menus, which you should be able to get to with the /\ and \/ keys, but you might need a PIN - here's hoping it's not been changed from 0000!!!

Can you imagine the conversation....

"Hello police, I've blocked my phone and yours is the only number I can ring.."

" Hello Emily, we know all about you.

The lifeguard, Fire Brigade and an emergency vet. are being dispatched as we speak, and Kim and Aggie are already in the helicopter...."

I did not try calling 999, but it won't let me press any buttons at all so I am guessing that it would not let me.

Utterly lost my temper at phone and chucked it at the wall. Cannot find all the bits, so will have to get another.

That is one solution to the problem!

So it looks like you have solved the problem of the locked phone then :) , break it & buy a new one.

This could be the start of an expensive hobby collection of locked / broken phones. :) .

P.S E.E. Can people now stop searching the net to help unlock ?

Okay, I was being childish. I have a horrible temper at times.

Put the phone back together. It still works, but is still locked

I hate it when things stop working and there is nothing I can do.

What search engines are there other than google? Still getting a 'site cannot be found screen'

I only ever use google toolbar for everything, so can't even do a google search for search engines.

May not be as good but have you tried " AJ! " ask jeeves ?

Both links work for me ee, try rebooting your laptop?

Emily, when I was selling cars, I found that although we had 6 lines coming into the showroom I could never get to the calls before the other salesmen (we had no reception, so answered our own calls) they laughed at me because I had the phone that did not answer on auto pickup (their phones did) so I rang the phone manufacturer and the PBX manufacture (got there numbers off Direct Enquiries

You could also try repairing your internet connection

Right, rebooting means websites other than Briskoda works. Am on an old Sony Vaio which often has issues.

My mobile does not work where as there is no signal until I drive up the road.

Calmed down a bit, mum was shouting at me on MSN at the same time, doesn't help. Could take it back to the shop tomorrow as I have to go into town. Just irritating beyond belief. Want to use my phone tonight :(

lmfao!!!! Kim & Aggie!

I bet you can still ring 999
