octy 110 tdi is lookin for a new turbo

Featured Replies

well i'm back again. the vag com showed zilch but as my previous threads said the octy has had symptoms pretty much in common with a lot of others, i cleaned the MAF and all was well for about 2 months then very occasionally the limp setting began rearing its little head again so i fitted a new MAF and the car has developed a hesitation at about 2k revs then clears but doesn't feel its usual energetic self. checked all the wires, vacuum pipes etc... and all o.k and everything else moves freely so investigated a little deeper and looks as tho the turbo is lettin oil thru so along with whats probally 140k of soot build up and a bust seal its in need of a new blower :( and gonna change all the vacuum pipes too while i'm at it.

my querie is will a turbo from a 130 or 150 fit? i know they have ecu/mapping differences but is it the same turbo? would i gain any extra power if it did fit? it already has a chip so didn't know if its worth it.

just thought i'd pick your brains. ;)

i can scource a brand spankin new turbo for

just cleaned the old maf meter and its cured the hesitating at 2k revs its just a bit numb now.:(

My car is always having turbo issues! Sometimes mine stutters slightly at about 2000rpm, but not always. Sometimes the turbo works and sometimes it doesn't! Oh, and I had my turbo replaced!

Mine does seem to consume oil like it is going out of fashion, and recently I have noticed that when starting it a nice cloud drifts around the car....

The vacuum hose that connects to the turbo - where does the other end go to? I want to disconnect it, but have not traced it back from the turbo yet....

ALL THE VACUUM HOSES TOO AND FROM THE N75 VALVES ARE LIKE SPAGHETTI JUNC AND SEEM TO BE PRONE TO RUBBING THROUGH ALSO THE LARGE DIAMETER HOSE FROM THE AIR FEED TO THE ACTUATOR IS WHERE IVE FOUND THE OIL, I'LL TRY AND GET SOME PICS IF THAT HELPS?

I'VE BEEN REASEARCHING LIKE MAD THIS WEEKEND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT A N75 VALVE IS, WHAT A VNT IS, ETC.... BUT I THINK I'VE CRACKED IT. ONE THING I HAVE FOUND OUT IS AFTERMARKET MAF METERS ARE CRAP AND ONLY BUT BOSCH.

ITS AMAZING BUT ALL THESE NIGGLING PROBLEMS BUT I STILL ENJOY DRIVING THE CAR! WELL UNTIL I SELL THE BLADE AND GET THE SCOOBY IN NOVEMBER!!!! WAHEY!!!!! THEN THE SKODA WILL BE DEMOTED TO FAMILY RUNAROUND AND WORK HORSE. SORRY I KNOW ITS NOT IN THE BRISKODA SPRIT BUT CANT BE HELPED.:o

Check the small one that goes onto the air box from the N75.

Put a new pipe on rather than looking for a pinhole in that.

You will find you disturb that pipe when you are doing stuff with the MAF.

You could try the tiniest smear of vaslene on the nipple that the hose plugs onto also.

I'd totally agree that the "Generic Made in China" MAF's don't seem promising.

As for the oil, if is where i think it is, I would expect a little oil from teh EGR system, although obviously also check that the actuator is moving freely.

HTH
