1.9 TDi idle rpm

Featured Replies

My wife has a new 1.9TDi Fabia. At idle the rpm is about 950, I can pull away and change up throught the gears with out any use of the accelorator.

from memory Petrol and Diesel engines tend to idle at about 750 rpm.

Can anyone confirm what the fabia should idle at before I approach the dealer !!!

Same for me....sounds perfectly normal.

Seems OK to me. It's ecu regulated anyway.

950 is correct

autodata says it should be 800 to 1000rpm rpm at idle...

my guess is it's been set at 950 rpm for the MOT test, becuase for the idle speed smoke test the engine has to be at between 875-950rpm.

thanks for replies, puts my mind at rest.

950 is normal. I think the vRS is set to the same level.

I love pulling away without the accelerator. It makes trickling along in traffic quite easy. :)

:iagree: 950 in my VRS
