Weird.....?

Featured Replies

Pulled onto the drive, engine idling, radio off, heater fan on position 1.

Selected reverse gear - fan speed increases.

What's that all about then? Does your vRs do that?

It goes into recirc mode when reversing so you don't choke to death on your diesel smoke :)

That makes sense, it's another one of those 'simply clever' features that they don't bother to make a fuss about - like how if you've got the front wipers on (cos it's raining?) and you select reverse gear (cos you want to go backwards!) the rear wiper flicks on automatically (cos the car reckons you'll need to see where you're going) - cool!:)

So, what other subtle little features are there that you have to discover for yourself - I gather the glow plug warning light doubles as a failed bulb indicator.........

1. A 'bong' when it's cold enough for ice as well as the temp automatically showing on the display.

2. A 'beep' when you are running low on either washer fluid or diesel.

3. An extra wipe a few seconds after washing your windscreen.

4. Headlight washers will only work when washer held for a over a second or so and then only every 5 wash's???....(The Polo GTI would wash the headlights everytime you washed the windscreen with the lights on)

5. Lane change indicators.... (Apologies to anyone who gets cut up by me when i'm in the CTR cos i still just flick the indicator thinking it's gonna flash a few times!!! :o )

6. Auto volume adjustment (connected to road noise) on the stereo.

7. Floor level air vents under front seats to blow air into rear footwells when reqd.

8. Rear 'tweeter' speakers in back doors next to interior door handles.

9. Pockets on sides of front seats.

I'm pretty sure there's an old thread around listing all the little things the car does somewhere on here.

Cheers

Dave.

edited , i'm just glad your reply wasn't the same as mine :D

11) After removing key, set indicator stalk left for left sidelights and right for right sidelights depending which side of the road you are parked.

12) Both mirrors move when set in middle

13) If unlocking car using the key, hold in unlock to open both front windows, vica versa to close.

Not really doubles up as such. The glow plug light indicates a fault in the engine management, if a brake light bulb or switch is faulty there is a fault logged in this system.

my car beeps if i have a bulb blow, or break lights good reminder! and ping pongs when you need to fasten your seatbelts :P

air cooled glovebox, can cooler on the drivers side with either a pen holder or a straw holder!

Isn't that just with the older models????? I have an '06 Furby vRS and if i have the mirror switch set to the middle setting and i move the joystick nothing happens and neither mirror moves.

The demonstrator i had was also an '06 reg and that was the same.

Cheers

Dave.
