Oh fug, pod flashing not fixed, list errors

Featured Replies

Well had the code reading from DM Keiths this morning but still not sorted the flashing and beeping problem, he seems to think its either the CAN cable or POD....

Does anyone know where to look for any connectors or wires that might alert the pod, like a bulb out that gives a warning beep....

PS, the version of ROSS TECH they used was 607.3-D

here is the list of codes that was fixed.

Address 01 - engine

18058 - powertrain data bus : missing message from instrument cluster

17978 - engine start blocked by immoblizer

( i know this, i started the car without pod attached )

18039 - accelerator position sensor - signal to high

18045 - powertrain data bus: missing message from electric load controller

address 09- Cent Elec

01314 - engine control module - no communications found

00966 - fuse for blinkers(S151) - faulty intermittent

00900 - fuse for signal horn(S194) - faulty intermittent

00969 - fuse for heated rear window (S41) - faulty intermittent

01054 - power supply relay: terminal 30 (J317) - short to plus

01317 - control module in instrument cluster(J285) - no communications intermittent

01598 - drive battery voltage - signal too low

address 17: instruments

00771 - fuel level sensor (G) - open or short to plus

01314 - engine control module - no comm intermittent

01322 - control module for multi- functional unit (MFA) (J501) - no comm intermittent

01321 - control module for air bags - no comm intermittent

address 19: CAN gateway

01314 - engine control module - no comm intermittent

01317 - control module in instrument cluster (J285) - no comm intermittent

address 44: steering assist

01317 - control module in instrument cluster(J285) - no comm intermittent

So can anyone point me to the numbers with the "J" in front and can anyone see if owt would point to the problems i have....

Any thing at all cos i am gonna book friday off to get under/in the cars wires again to see if there are any more frayed wires.....

Where is the CAN gateway, is this the loom from the pod if so where does it go to.....Please bods, any ideas to help me.....

Spevie, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeding, hahaha

Relating to this..

can someone tell if the alternator will charge the battery even if the ( now not sure what its called, the regulator in the alternator) is not working.

Is there any other wires that the alternator might effect, i mean i am wondering if this flashing ( battery light now included) is caused by voltage fluctuation.

The J numbers are the designation for the item. Bit like an N75 or N249 valve for instance.

I would have said a lot of those codes will have been caused by your tinkering and you shouldn't really read too much into it. Have them cleared and then look at the ones that remain.

J's are control units, N's are solenoids, E's are switches.

You need to clear that lot down and start again, most of them faults I would expect are due to you pulling connectors off.

All the codes have been cleared, none exist now ( DM Keiths cleared them this morning ) just trying to delve into everyones knowledge about these codes to see if owt i can check to resolve my probs.

just wondering if there is a problem with the alternator giving false signals, or the pod(instrument cluster) thats fugged.....

i know have the indicator lights, <1> and battery light all flashing together really fast including a beeping to boot.........itd really intermittent, can drive 10-15 mins and nowt them 1 lot happens or it does for 30 seconds......plus the odd random flash n beep..........just trying to narrow down the possible faults.

do you think i should get a new alternator and replacement pod and see what happens.........or just keep searching the wiring loom for faults ( masive job tho ) DM Keiths said if it continues book it back in and see what they come up with, yes thats fine but at what cost per hour ??????

just lost as to what to do now ??????
