hey guys hows it goin?

Me and my bro learned to drive in a skoda 110ls i lived on a farm so there was lots of "rally"driving going on.8 years later while he was over for dinner and a few beers we saw a 1978 110l on the net and i bought him right then without looking at him thank god he was in pretty good condition otherwise gf would of killed me haha. had to do a little work on him to get him road worthy but after all that i love driving him round just have two questions for you guys.

no.1 Loueys alright round town but as soon as i go open road and sit on 100b km/hr he will overheat-ive heard this is a common problem with these cars is this true or is there a solution? i have checked the thermostat and it doesnt have one so this isnt the problem-so if anyone has any ideas please help.

no.2 Louey would like a set of mag wheels what is the offset, stud spacing to fit.

cheers guys

troy

p.s my skodas name is louey

well i have bought myself another one this one is orange and is in really good condition, mint interior(thanks to the tints) mint chrome and shes had a re-spray had alot of troubles with it lacking in power she would run fine then all of a sudden die on me under acceleration, after replacing spark plugs, distributor, points, leads, fuel filter blowing out fuel lines checking fuel pump i started on the carb and found out it was the plunger for the secondarys. but now shes going sweet and this one doesnt have that annoying fault of over heating wahoo.

my car trys to over heat wen i get stuck in traffic but i jst turn the heaters on an its cools down only prob is i get so hot! :)

Hiya. Nice cars mate. Not too many of them left. :(

The overheating one; does it have a front radiator by any chance? If so, I'd suspect a partial airlock in the lines, or a sticky thermostat.

And Jaymz; good call on how to cool down an overheating car to get it out of traffic.

its a strange one cause she never overheated in traffic only when it was on the open road the heater trick wouldwork when u pulled over to let her cool down but as soon as you got up to 100 shed start getting hot again, the radiator was in the back it was a strange one anyway shes covered in the shed at the moment(when i was replacing clutch gearbox slipped of jack and broke gear stick linkage so shell be sitting there till i get time to replace gearbox)cheers for the helpful suggestions guys.

troy

Got me completely, unless there's some non-standard feature on that car that's stopping or reversing an airflow that should be going through the radiator, and you'd be able to tell that better than I would.
