Boost gauge

Featured Replies

I've just acquired a boost gauge but it didnt came with a t-piece. Nor do I know where I can tap the tube into. Does anyone happen to have an under bonnet picture which shows where the t-piece would normally go? I need it by example as I have no idea what (most of the) components are where under the bonnet :o

If you use the "SEARCH" for Boost Gauge Plumbing there is a link to Robs skoda vRS, there you will find a picture with a big yellow arrow showing you where to fix the "T" piece into, thats also the same place mine is plumbed into.

You mean this one? I swear I've seen the picture before, but never noticed the yellow arrow... maybe I should visit the optician :o

Brilliant, now just have to locate a t-piece :)

Glad to be useful!

Does your hose have a restrictor in it? (ooerrr missus), acts as kind of a damper otherwise the signal to the gauge can be a bit erratic .

Uhm... how can I tell?

My gauge came with a tee peice that had a brass 'plug' in one end with a tiny hole in it... If it is a capilliary type gauge then the tube may be of small enough diameter anyway. If i get chance at the w/e i'll take a pic.

That's exactly what I am looking for. The tube itself is tiny (in width, the length is decent), only 2mm inner diameter. The end connected to the gauge is 'embedded' in a brass plug, so I presume I will have to find something similar for the t-piece. In any case, the t-pieces I have seen on ebay are nowhere near looking like the item I need :(

Mine's on a standard plastic T-Piece and reads okay.
